Deidre CreativeSoul

is a poet, photographer, and publisher. Born and raised in Washington, DC, she is, like many of her relatives, a traveler who has also lived, worked and studied in California, Georgia and Massachusetts, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College in 2004. A few months later, she became a Cave Canem poetry fellow. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the time of this publication, today she may be living somewhere in Africa or in the broader African Diaspora, exploring new ways to be creative and build community.
